10 Reasons To Love Mono Photography
By John WayneFeatured Photographer: Donald Cameron – Mono Photography
Photographing often deserted stretches of coastline creates an amazing sense of peace and tranquility that Donald Cameron manages to get across in his images, with nothing but the camera and the vast endless ocean for company. The focus of Donald’s work is the landscape & seascapes of Scotland, predominantly shot in black & white.
“I love being able to almost control the ocean through the lens, turning a choppy tide into a calm silky wash using long exposure. It is this that provides my constant inspiration and keeps drawing me back to the sea.“
Donald takes great inspiration from classic landscape photographers such as Ansel Adams, as although his subject matter and locations were quite different, the originality of composition and striking use of contrast in his black and white landscapes is something Donald aspires to.
